The strategic investigations will be continued in year 2016 like the last years. Two new machines complete our high quality machining park.
These two machines of company DMG Mori Seiki are from their new series: DMU 105 FD and a DMC 160 FD. The FD in their designation is for German words “Fräsen-Drehen“ (milling-turning), that means these machines can cover any machining step like turning, milling and drilling. They can machine parts with a diameter of 1250mm and 1530mm. The combined function of this machines enable a complete machining for many parts without changing the machine, which leads to reduction of setup times and increases our manufacturing precision.
In the last year Siebenhaar Antriebstechnik GmbH delivered six large scaled winches for a Cutter Suction Dredger to Jan De Nul Group. These are the main winches of the ship which are responsible for main lifting appliances.
1x Ladder Winch G6160 WH 04/0
1x Ladder Winch G6160 WH 05/0
The ladder winches, type G6160 WH, are used in the Cutter Suction Dredger for lowering or raising cutter head assemblies (boom systems). Both winches are installed below deck and are differentiated into starboard and port side execution.
Technical data:
| Rope pulling force, nominal / max. value | 1.150 / 1.650 | [kN] |
| Weight | 69.000 | [kg] |
| Installation surface space requirements l x w x h | 10,0 x 9,8 x 4,2 | [m] |
2x Spud Hoisting Winch 6180 WF 02/0
The spud hoist winches, type G6180 WF, are used in the Cutter Suction Dredger for lifting and free-fall mode operation of the main anchor spud.
Free-fall mode: Out of a pre-defined height the spud drops to the sea floor penetrating it i. e. ramming the sea floor.
Lifting mode: In lifting mode the spud can be lowered to pre-defined height or can be pulled out from the ground and lifted to the deck.
Technical data:
| Rope pulling force, nominal / max. value | 1.750 / 3.500 | [kN] |
| Weight | 74.000 | [kg] |
| Installation surface space requirements l x w x h | 9,6 x 6,4 x 3,6 | [m] |

1x Side Wire Winch G6180 WH 02/0
1x Side Wire Winch G6180 WH 03/0
The side wire winches, type G6180 WH, are used in the Cutter Suction Dredger for lateral pull movements on the ship used to generate the required lateral feed for the cutter module (milling function). Both winches are installed on the working deck and are differentiated into starboard and port side execution.
Technical data:
| Rope pulling force, nominal / max. value | 2.000 / 3.000 | [kN] |
| Weight | 80.000 | [kg] |
| Installation surface space requirements l x w x h | 8,0 x 6,4 x 4,3 | [m] |

Siebenhaar will deliver further winch types for this project in year 2016.
Siebenhaar has recently delivered 2 electric driven inclined fall pipe winches for Jan de Nul’s latest multi-purpose vessels.
These winches have a 75 ton line-pull which is intended to position an inclined fall pipe for rock dumping purposes. These winches are provided with 4x100 kW electric motors driving 4 slewing gears which act on a slewing bearing. The winch is capable to perform active heave compensation without the need for hydraulics, compensation cylinders or additional equipment. Because of this active heave compensation the rock’s are being dumped at the exact location regardless ship’s motions. The drives have this special feature that energy coming back from the system (when load is payed out) the returning energy is fed back to the ship’s power system saving fuel and energy consumption.
Siebenhaar Antriebstechnik GmbH has delivered the winches including the drive and controls as a complete package.
NEW in our machinery: Two LK 500 gear skiving machines from Liebherr.
To remain innovative and high-performing in the future, we are investing in two modern Liebherr LK 500 gear skiving machines for the production of high-precision gear teeth.
Gear skiving is a highly efficient machining process that combines the advantages of hobbing and shaping. With automatic workpiece change, components up to 500 mm in diameter and module 5 can be manufactured in the highest quality and in large quantities.
